Jez, I'm updating a lot all of a sudden...

I bought this game a while ago, and after going through hell trying to find and beat Yayoi's Silent, I've beaten this game!

I don't know why this game is getting such a bad rap. Is everyone getting the normal ending or something? Then again, maybe I just like visual novels. I got the good ending on my first try because I read about Honoka at the last possible second. I might have even tried to get the normal ending first just to see what it was, but then I found out about Shinji's fate in the normal ending (my favorite character) and shot for the good ending like a crazy person. I blew the bad ending a while back, so if I want to see it, I'll have to play through again.

I loved the themes and I loved the characters. (I went crazy trying to get the good ending to save Shinji, and to kill Akira's Silent.) I like the idea of trying to protect everyone. And there is something undeniably sexy about Atsuki's personality.

The ending was bittersweet, and I liked it because I think it fit the game's story. I hope there's a sequel; it set itself up nicely for one. I'm gonna play through again and see the other two endings, but I doubt they're as good. My only real complaint was the text in the English version; the translators were not trying. I like the voice actors, but once again, what they were saying didn't match up with the text, which was a minor annoyance.

Once again, a very real, human story in this game. I enjoyed it a lot, and I hope others think the same. I know what I'll be doing once I get my new DSi, playing through to see the other two endings! (Though I doubt they're better than the good ending.) I'd definately give it at least an 8 1/2 / 10, if not a 9.

Other than that, no other news.

So in case you didn't hear, I graduated a few days ago. I'm now officially a stupid freshman again! But my dad had this awesome surprise for me as a grad present: a BRAND NEW MACBOOK PRO!!! I am so excited and I love the thing! As a matter of fact, I'm posting from it right now!

In other news, I saw Angels & Demons on Monday. It was different from the book, which I am a big fan of, but I still liked it. Especially the soundtrack. Hans Zimmer kicks booty like there's no tomorrow. Blah for The Da Vinci Code, yay for Angels & Demons!

I also ordered Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship Tournament 2009 for the DS. I hope it's good, since 5D's IS actually pretty good, and I love Nightmare Troubadour (Not it's translations, though...)

Anyway, that's about it.

So would somebody care to explain to me why Crystal is not gonna be a playable, main character in HeartGold and SoulSilver? I mean, come on! Oh well, at least Silver is still there (Me lovie me some Silver) and that means I get to have my third male sprite in the history of Pokemon. Gold's art looks fantastic though.

So I'm a bit disappointed, but that doesn't mean I'm still not screaming internally (and externally) with excitement. Hooray for HeartGold and SoulSilver! (I've already started planning my teams... hehe...)

I got the news in my AP Literature class today. POKEMON GOLD/SILVER REMAKES FOR THE DS!!! FUCK YES! They are to be called HeartGold and SoulSilver, quite fitting in my opinion, since GS are the heart and soul of the Pokemon franchise, as well as my life *cough cough*

Gods above, I haven't updated in FOREVER!

On the bad side, I've caught a horrible case of Senioritis, so I don't wanna do much of anything right now.

On the positive side, I decided to run another AMV contest, this time all Yu-Gi-Oh! themed! If you make AMVs at all, please go check it out!



Also, my awesome story is getting closer to being completed! Yays! That's always a good thing!

Yeah, scary. I got myself in a Pokémon mood and a Neopets mood at the same time. I don't need a trip down Memory Lane right now!!! But with a GBC emulator on my computer and GSC roms, life is pretty good, even WITHOUT a goddamned battery...

Yeah, I admit, I miss my Lugia. A lot. Oh well...

Oh, and I saw the game Lux-Pain that's coming out in March, and it looks REALLY GOOD! So I forsook Pokémon Platinum (cause I have no money) and pre-ordered Lux-Pain instead. I hope the story doesn't turn out like Death Note. Revenge and killing are not my cup of tea. Also, I have my eyes on Princess Debut, since I've never played a game like that one before. Well, we'll see. Maybe I can actually get a job this summer!

And the good news is, even though I'm getting a MacBook for college, there are GBC emulators for Macs! Yes! The bad news is, I doubt my emulated save file for the Gold version I've been working on will transfer over well. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to beat it again!

And now I'm struggling to get the vid up so people can know whether or not they won. If worse comes to worse, I might have to post the results video elsewhere.

And it's not like we're stealing! I BUY music. I SUPPORT bands! I BOUGHT Within Temptation's album BECAUSE I HEARD THEIR STUFF ON YOUTUBE!!!

Jez, I haven't updated in forever, and now I give a rant.

*SPOILERS PAST BOOK 2*

I don't know how many people out there have heard of The Five Ancestors children's book series by Jeff Stone, but I have to say I recommend the series. Although they're meant for kids, the books delve deep into emotional issues such as friendship, trust, finding where you belong, identity, and betrayal.

And I, of course, chose the 'villain' as my favorite character, Tonglong, or 'Preying Mantis' in Cantonese. (I like Ying and Hok too, I think they'd make such an adorable couple, especially after readin 'Eagle.') Something-I'm not sure what-attracted me to the betrayer of Ying and the now 'main antagonist' of the series. And as a Tonglong fan, I was pissed when I heard about Random House's decision to change Book 6, originally titled 'Mantis' and was supposed to be ALL ABOUT Tonglong, with 'Mouse.' Just because they didn't think that kids would want to read a book named after an insect! URGH! Tonglong is a much more interesting character with a much more mysterious personality and has much more promise than ShaoSu! (Mice are cute, I'll admit it, but still...)

Curse my luck! Anyway, I have a few theories about Tonglong, and I wanted to share them. If anyone who's read the books comments, I'll be happy!

What do you say that Tonglong's actually the Emperor's son? Wouldn't that make a lot of sense, considering how he wants to get so close to the Emperor and the entire series is about them finding out about their pasts? Anyway, that's my theory. I can't wait for 'Mouse' and 'Dragon' to get released.

Okay. I want to get a few things cleared up about this current election that are just pissing me off. First off, the fact that many Americans claim that, not necessarily in these words, that they won't vote for Democrat Barack Obama because he's black.

Okay, people. Can we really afford to be racist at such a critical time for our country? I admit that I'm a seventeen-year old white female from rural central Illinois. I live around a LOT of Republicans. And I am a feminist. But that doesn't mean I'm going to go running to McCain because he picked Sarah Palin to be his running mate. This election is NOT about race and gender, it is about voting for the candidate whose policies you agree with and who will make a better President of the United States.

And to make this more annoying for me, I'm going to turn eighteen on November 13, so I won't get to vote in this election.

But let me get back to the point. What pisses me off even MORE are the people that cover up the fact that they won't vote for him because he's black by saying that he's a 'Muslim.' This royally pisses me off for two reasons:
1. He's not.
2. Even if he were a Muslim, that shouldn't influence people's opinion either way because we have freedom of religion in this country.

So for all of you people who won't vote for Barack Obama simply because he's black, a 'Muslim,' or simply because you're appeased by Sarah Palin just because she's a woman, I am ASHAMED to live in the same country as you.

I just finished Breaking Dawn, the final Twilight book, so THIS RANT WILL INCLUDE SOME SPOILERS!!!!

(I would have finished the book earlier, except I got my wisdom teeth taken out on Monday, so... yeah. That set me back significantly on my reading.)

First off, I think it was good for a conclusion. Slightly anti climatic, but good still the same. (At least I don't have to quote ABridged Tea and say, "All my fanfics are worthless now!")

And since Carlisle didn't die, (actually, I think only one person died...)I don't have to cry myself to sleep! Yay!

So, overall, I enjoyed it. Happy endings for all!

Kudos to Stephanie Meyer for such an awesome, American shojo series!

Trigon, I haven't updated this journal in FOREVER!!!

I just got back from a week-long vacation in northern Minnesota, a great way to clear your head, believe me. Only this year, it seems like the trip was more trouble than it was worth.

And after looking at a couple of colleges, we came home. And that's about it. My summer hasn't been very exciting.

As for "Somewhere In The Silence," I plan to get working on that very soon. Sorry for the ridiculously long delay!

*Spoiler/Rant Warning for the first Bleach Movie!*

So yesterday night I drove up to Savoy, where they were showing the movie, and I got to see Bleach: Memories of Nobody. The bonus stuff at the beginning was interesting, but believe me, Johnny Yong Bosch is much more impressive in person.

And I thoroughly enjoyed it-especially because Soifon showed up to help on her own WITHOUT Yoruichi. (Y'all should know she's my fav, and it surprised me that she would help out the good guys without Yoruichi's urging!)

Ganryu was interesting-not so much in personality or character development, but from the fact that he reminded me of someone that I have growing respect for.

Senna was cute, and she grows on you throughout the movie. At first, like Ichigo, I thought she was kind of annoying, but by the end of the movie, I was close to crying.

The animation was stunning, as always, and it didn't look like 'movie' animation, like the InuYasha movies or the Yu-Gi-Oh! movie (even though that was 4Kids) did. That was something I was glad to see.

My favorite part of the movie, I think, was actually the beginning, when the title of the movie showed up-the not-usual 'Bleach' title and then a white screen with black 'Memories of Nobody' in the middle. Add in the music and I thought it was rather breathtaking.

I have to admit, when "Sen No Yoru Wo Koete" started playing, I was both extremely happy and extremely sad. It was definitely a movie worth going to, and has inspired me to start loving Bleach as a series all over again.

On a side note, I read over the basic plot for the second movie, and IT SOUNDS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST!!! ALL ABOUT FRIKIN TOSHIRO, MAN!!! Come on Viz, release it stateside already, darn you!

I finally got the reprint of "Private Opinion" in the mail today, and I knew it was going to be impressive, but OH MY GOD!!!

Considering Blanca is my favorite character, I thought that the story "Private Opinion" itself was AMAZING!!! (And yes, I can figure out most Japanese) So basically, I enjoyed it beyond all known reason!

The other stories in the book are gorgeous too, so for anybody out there who's a Banana Fish fan and doesn't have this book yet, BUY IT! Believe me, it's worth it!
